Do callers know they’re talking to an AI?
Yes. LeaseOwl introduces itself as your AI assistant at the start of every call and first message, and says the call is recorded. Renters are more comfortable when AI is disclosed, and Canada’s privacy commissioner expects it.
Can I still take calls myself?
Yes. Set hand-off hours and LeaseOwl transfers calls or texts you during them. Outside those hours it answers, books showings and takes messages.
Does LeaseOwl run credit or background checks?
No. Applicants are sent to the screening service you already use, such as SingleKey, FrontLobby, CORPIQ’s ProprioEnquête or your property management software’s screening. No credit report passes through LeaseOwl.
Does it speak French?
Yes. Quebec properties get Quebec French by default, and LeaseOwl switches languages whenever a caller does.
What if I don’t use property management software?
That’s fine. Enter your units once and LeaseOwl works from that. Your calendar and your phone are all it needs.
What about privacy?
You choose how long conversations are kept, and every plan includes a data processing agreement. Quebec customers also get a privacy impact assessment kit for Law 25.
